In truth, college is actually a whole lot more fun than high school. Not that there were a lot of problems, but the atmosphere is a lot more... comfortable. It still was a hell of a week but hopefully it'll stay that way as the days keep going on by.
I only have classes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. It's awesome.
Sadly, Suzuki has classes everyday but Tuesdays and Thursdays are only for an hour. Still. I can't help but feel, you know?
Anyway, each day has been very eventful so I'll go through it all.
Monday
The first day of school which was also the most stressful day I've ever had.
This was my schedule for that day.
IS 100 (Intro to College) ~ 9am-9:55am [With Suzuki]
ENG 21 (English Reading) ~ 10am-10:55am
OCN 201 (Oceanography) ~ 11am-11:55am [With Suzuki]
ENG 22 (English Writing) ~ 12pm-12:55pm [With Suzuki]
ENG 21 (English Reading) ~ 1pm-1:55pm
ART 101 (Art Class) ~ 2pm-3:15pm [With Suzuki]
Also, Suzuki and I wanted to start off the first semester together so the counselor helped us get in classes together. xD
Now, before you ask or notice why there's two English Reading classes... I actually couldn't sign up for it before school started. They were all filled and there were no openings. orz
So a counselor suggested I sit in both class, but talk to the Instructor right away, which I did.
The first English Reading class (which I really wanted because the timing fit my schedule better) was interesting. Although, there were two other people sitting in like me. The Instructor said he could probably take only two of us if anything so he went as far as telling us to do ROCK PAPER SCISSORS for it. We all gave each other a "wtf" look and he gave in and told us to write our emails on the paper. (There was no way in hell that I was gonna chance my way in with a silly game.)
Then, I went to my second English Reading class and it was lively. I met this girl named Shol. She was probably one of the reasons why my day didn't totally suck. Anyway, the Instructor for that class told me (since I was apparently the only sit-in) that he just needed my student number. Then it just so happened that I didn't have it. I knew my mom took it because it also had her information down. I was just so frustrated and apologized to him. He ended up giving me his cell phone number and told me to call within the day once I got the student number and I'll be in his class. (Compared to the first Instructor, this Instructor was super friendly.)
Once I got home, it took me awhile to realize I could go and log into my college account online to get my number. After much thought... I decided to try get into the second English Reading class. (I mean, if you had more chance of getting into one class that didn't involve you having to do rock paper scissors...I'm pretty sure you would suck up and take it.)
I called up the Instructor and gave him my number. He told me he was gonna sign me up so all I had to do was stay online, wait for a minute, and then register the class to my schedule. By the time I found the opening to that class...
I found that my first English Reading class had already allowed me to register.
Then, that Instructor called me back (since he could see my information) and asked me about it. I told him everything and he understood.
Regardless of how today went, I was actually very damn happy to have gotten that first English Reading class. Sure, the Instructor ticked me off a bit with his rock paper scissors thing... but the timing was worth it more and I did feel like I was going to learn a lot more off of him anyway. (I mean, he ended up being really nice as the week went by.)
By the way, Suzuki and I decided to drop oceanography while we were at it. We knew we were going to fail that class after listening at least 2 minutes into the class lol.
So I updated my schedule and it looked like this:
IS 100 (Intro to College) ~ 9am-9:55am <Mon, Wed, Fri>
ENG 21 (English Reading) ~ 10am-10:55am <Mon, Wed, Fri>
-Break-
ENG 22 (English Writing) ~ 12pm-12:55pm <Mon, Wed, Fri>
-Break-
ART 101 (Art Class) ~ 2pm-3:15pm <Mon, Wed>
And fortunately, I was able to snap a few shots while we were there since I was feeling kind of excited haha.
Suzuki was amused.
This ant tried to crawl up my arm lol.
The view that Suzuki and I always see while heading to our first class.
After I settled my schedule, Lohi was unexpectedly hanging out in the middle of our room lol.
Wednesday
The second day! xD By then, it felt more like my actual first day since now I didn't have to hassle for classes.
Actually, this day was a lot more chill than Monday. I don't really know what to say about this day to be honest.
I did finally meet up with my best friend, UlQui. We found out that we have a break together on Mondays and Wednesdays while Suzuki attends a different class lol. It was nice to her after so long. I do feel bad that we haven't planned anything at all together for summer but what's in the past is in the past. At least now I can see her at least for a while lol.
I don't have permission to post her face so this is all I got lol.
I don't have much to say about this day lol. It was really fun though. Got to do more introductions in all the classes so everyone could feel more comfortable. That was pretty much it for this day.
Suzuki's bag is still a work in progress but she's almost there!
This was taken on our last break of the day and we wanted to eat lunch. xD
This was after school.
While we were waiting, I was really bored.
And my hair has gotten really long. I'm looking forward to my haircut next month lol.
Friday (Today)
The last day of our first week. I was pretty worn down already because I've been stupid and messing up my sleep schedule still.... (I've been getting back into my KH fanfics. Of all times I had to get into it was now. orz)
Anywaaaay. It was a lot more chill. As expected, we now got a bunch of homework (it's not too bad but it's a lot lol). Got the majority of the online work done so just taking it easy. I told myself that I would try to get rid of as much work as possible so I don't have to stress later. So far, going okay. I want to keep it that way lol.
And that was pretty much it for this day. Wow. Monday was the most eventful day. Or, maybe I'm just starting to forget a little as I nod off to sleep while typing this all out. xD Ugh. Whatever.
While Suzuki and I were on a break with another friend, Kumiko.
Suzuki and Kumiko were talking more (and I was too tired to really say anything) so I took pictures.
I don't even know.
Ah. I forgot to mention that this whole week was also the first time I've (seriously) worn my hearing aid.
And yes. I do have one, but it's only for my right ear. My left side can hear just about the same as an average person, but I'm still considered hearing impaired...
His name was actually Thomas. THOMAS.
So I still have to get used to it. I mean, it was the first week to use it so I was bound to mess up like that lol. I just hope that won't ever happen again.
Yeah. Well, that was the whole week's highlights and memorable moments I wanted to share in a single entry. Yay.
Even my mom had to tell Suzuki and I that "We must really love college."
We asked her why she would say that and she told us that it was because ever since we both went on the first day... we haven't stopped talking about everything. She even said that "In freshmen year, you were kinda like this but never THIS happy about it."
Haha yeahhhh. College really is a blast to be honest. Long breaks, classes suited more to your level and ones that you can actually look forward to, and having such a more comfortable atmosphere. Sure, the work is probably gonna drag me down later but I might as well be positive about it.
Yep.
Well, I'll finally end it here. Until then.
